We sure are enjoying getting to be home for a bit! We also enjoyed a nice BBQ this past Friday evening with several of our neighbors here in Townsend. The weather was cool and lent itself nicely to providing a great atmosphere for sitting around a campfire after supper. After eating a yummy meal, we finally all ended up around the beautiful fire, listening to the many stories and tales that were being shared. As usual there was much laughter to be had for all! With clear skies above, filled with lots of brightly shining stars, we sat below amidst the scattered trees adjacent to some dense woods. Feeling like we were far away from everything, we all greatly enjoyed sitting around, drinking hot apple cider and just relaxing for awhile. Something about sitting and staring at a fire slowly burning under the stars above, seems completely mesmerizing to me, not to mention that afterward my hair smells like we’ve been camping, and I love to camp! Saturday we met some friends at our local Pizza Hut and then enjoyed visiting and eating a bit of dessert at our house afterward.
After getting our newsletters put together and sent out, we have greatly been enjoying getting to paint quite a bit this past week. We’ve also been enjoying daily walks or bike rides again! I replanted our front window boxes and a couple of pots on the back deck with lots of Pansies in a array of colors. I love seeing their happy “faces” looking up at me all winter long and am so glad that they thrive here like they do in the winter! One has to have flowers and some color no matter what the season. Since I haven’t taken any other photos this past week, I thought I’d share a few more photos of some of the beautiful birds we enjoyed seeing while in Florida a couple of weeks ago.
Fresh off the easel: I finished miniature “Little Miss Attitude”. It features a very cute Warthog that definitely looks like she has an attitude! Wes finished his painting “An Adorable Aussie ” too, which features a totally adorable Koala Bear! You just want to pick it up hug it when you see it! He took the photo of it when we were at the San Diego Zoo last month.
Currently on the easels: Wes is currently painting on a miniature of a Spruce Grouse that we saw and photographed while we were in Yosemite National Park last month. I’m painting a miniature of a beautifully back lit sailboat that I photographed when we were coming in from our day at sea, on our whale watching cruise in San Diego last month.
We will be going to Kingsport, TN this coming Thursday November the 4th, to attend an opening featuring a group of our miniature paintings at Up Against the Wall Gallery. It will be from 5-8 pm that evening. Then we hope to paint like crazy to get a couple more miniatures done in time for the Waterfowl Festival in Easton, MD next month. My goodness how time seems to fly anymore!!
Hope you are continuing to enjoy a great fall wherever you may be!
Until next time ~ Rachelle 🙂
