Finding Beauty in the Little Things!
By Rachelle Siegrist
Many times there is great beauty in the simple things in life. Way to often it’s the simple, or seemingly insignificant things, we take for granted and they go unnoticed and unappreciated. Take my little Charlie Brown Christmas tree for example, even though it’s small and not near as grande and decorated as my large Christmas tree, to me it’s equally as beautiful!
In the TV Christmas special, Charlie Brown took the time to take notice of the seemingly small, and the unappreciated things in life, such as the scraggly little evergreen tree. To the others it was pitiful and ugly, but he saw great beauty in it, and with being shown a little love and appreciation, it made a fine Christmas tree, becoming the most popular Christmas tree image to date!
So you see, there is indeed beauty in everything that’s good, we just have to take the time to pause and look for it . . . and we will find it!

Delighted collectors received this tandem drawing by Wes and I this past week. The title is “Best Buddies” and obviously needs no words to describe the feeling of devoted love and friendship a “boy and his dog” share in life!!!
While I’m continuing to paint on a surprise commission for Christmas, Wes is painting on a landscape featuring our beautiful “backyard” the Great Smoky Mountains! The gorgeous scene is located not far from our home and is along one of my favorite hikes! Here are the steps up to where he currently is working on the miniature painting . . .
